Description
If your water runs heavy on chlorine or your shower arm has seen its share of sediment, a filter swap is one of the simpler changes you can make. This set of 10 keeps you stocked so you're not reordering every few months.
How it works
Each filter sends shower water through a layered cartridge: KDF-55 (a copper-zinc alloy) and calcium sulfite media work through a redox reaction to break down chlorine and chloramine, while a sediment layer traps rust flecks and particulate that can travel through older pipes. The result is water that reaches your skin and hair with less chlorine contact, which for many people in treated municipal water areas translates to less tightness after showering and less strain on color-treated or already-dry hair. It is a chlorine-and-sediment reduction filter, not a softener, so mineral hardness passes through unchanged.
Good to know
- Multi-stage media (KDF-55 + calcium sulfite) reduces chlorine, chloramine, and trace heavy metals from shower water, plus a sediment layer that catches rust and grit
- Reduces chlorine exposure on skin and hair, which may help with dryness, itchiness, and irritation in chlorinated or heavy-sediment water areas
- Does not soften hard water or remove calcium and magnesium, so it will not stop scale buildup or mineral spots on its own
- Fits standard US shower arms with no tools required, and each filter is rated for about 3 to 4 months of daily use before the media loses effectiveness
- Set of 10 gives you a running supply for one shower over roughly 2.5 to 3 years, or enough to outfit multiple bathrooms at once
